Product Description
This German advent calendar shows a tiny snow-covered village in the alps at Christmas. Children gather at the manger where angels play heavenly music. A shepherd with his flock of sheep looks on standing by the town Christmas tree. Ornate alpine chalets and mountain peaks tower behind the intimate scene.
The detailed picture has 24 little doors to open, with each hiding a little picture.
Tradition of the Advent Calendar
The tradition of the advent calendar dates back to 1851 in the Protestant parts of Germany. The first advent calendar with little doors was printed in the early 1900's and continues today. The tradition is to open one door each day from December 1 thru December 24. A great activity to do with family during the holiday season.
