Product Description
This German paper advent calendar with glitter accents shows a scene of the Christmas Market in the Schlossplatz (Castle Square) in Stuttgart, Germany. The impressive size of Stuttgart's Schlossplatz commands the scene, glowing in the evening sky. The yearly Christmas market is setup with vendors, a bustle of market patrons, Ferris wheel and festive lighting.
All of the windows of this calendar reveal other famous buildings, landmarks & symbols of Stuttgart. The calendar includes a helpful guide on the reverse showing the names/locations of each landmark behind the doors.
The detailed picture has 24 little doors to open. Each door has a little picture behind it.
Tradition of the Advent Calendar
The tradition of the advent calendar dates back to 1851 in the Protestant parts of Germany. The first advent calendar with little doors was printed in the early 1900's and continues today. The tradition is to open one door each day from December 1 thru December 24. Children love to open a door a day as they count down to Christmas.
