Exquisitely detailed solid pewter beer stein with three relief panels that depict moments in legend of Siegfried and the Nibelungenlied.
Main Panel:
Schatz des Nibelungen - Treasure of the Niebelungen
Hagen von Tronje is depicted dumping the treasure of the Niebelungen into the Rhine river.  
Left Panel:
Siegfrieds Tod - Siegfried's death
Shows the scene in which Hagen von Tronje kills Siegfried by driving a spear into the vulnerable area on his back untouched by the magical properties of the dragon's blood. 
Right Panel:
Kampf mid dem Drachen - Fight with the dragon
Siegfried fights the dragon and eventually kills the beast, winning Brünhild.
Flowers decorate the handle & thumblift and a garland of acorns & oak leaves encircles the base. Ornamental scroll work on the lid.
