The left shows the romantic hotel Markusturm. A traveler is depicted in this panel with drinking horn, walking stick and lantern. The right depicts the Rathaus or town hall with a town officer drinking from a large stein.
Each panel reads "Rothenburg o.d.T." (Rothenburg over the Tauber River) with the city coat of arms.
