This exquisitely detailed, solid pewter wine chalice or Römer with footed base has four panels with relief decorated scenes depicting the grape harvest (Weinlese); careful hand picking of the grapes, loading of the grapes into bushels carried by a mule, stomping of the grapes and the vintner's tasting after the wine has aged in the cellar.
Grape vines decorate the stem.

Superb craftsmanship definitely went into the scenes depicted on the chalice, and it was ready/safe to use out of the box-- no burrs/sharp edges to sand down.
