Product Description

This highly detailed and hand painted stein designed by Peter Duemler pays tribute to the play Faust - the story of Dr. Johannes Faust written by the world-famous German poet Wolfgang von Goethe.
The beer stein depicts three scenes from the play.  Left side: Showing when he made a deal with the Devil - "Uns ist ganz kannibalisch wohl als wie fuenfhundert Saeuen", which translates as: "We feel as terrifically good as five hundred sows"
Front: Showing when he flirted with Gretchen - "Beim Himmel dieses Kind ist schoen,so etwas hab' ich nie gesehn", which translates as: "Good heavens, this child is beautiful - I've never seen anything like it before",
Right side: Showing his separation from Gretchen (the says Devil to him) - "Ich muss dich nun vor allen Dingen, in lustige Gesellschaft bringen", which translates as: "Above all, I have to get you now into jolly company."
