Wheat Beer Glasses + Weizen Glasses
Wheat beer glasses are often referred to as weizen glasses, weizen meaning wheat in German. The term Hefeweizen (yeast wheat) refers to wheat beer in its unfiltered form where Kristallweizen (crystal wheat) varieties have been filtered to remove the yeast and wheat proteins which give Hefeweizen its cloudy appearance.
Wheat beer glasses are sometimes confused with pilsner style glasses though weizen glasses tend to be narrow at the bottom and more curved towards the top of the glass. A lip at the top helps trap the thick foam head commonly produced by traditional wheat beers.
