This German advent calendar celebrates the 500 year anniversary of the Reformation in 2017 (1517-2017)! Pictured is All Saints' Church in Wittenberg, Germany where it is believed that on October 31, 1517 Martin Luther posted his Ninety-five Theses on the doors.
A portrait of Luther is shown in the upper right corner with his signature below.
The detailed picture has 24 little doors to open. Each door has a little picture behind it. The tradition is to open one door each day from December 1 thru December 24. Children love to open a door a day as they count down to Christmas.
