Product Description
This military beer stein pays tribute to the history of US Marine Corps.
The left depicts Tun Tavern (Tun in old English is said to mean barrel/keg of beer.), reputably the birth place of the US Marine Corp on Nov. 10th, 1775. Reads: "Birthplace of the few, the proud - Tun Tavern Nov. 10. 1775". On that date US Continental Congress commissioned Samuel Nicholas to raise two battalions of Marines. Nicholas chose Tun Tavern as the Marine Corp headquarters and established the proprietor Robert Mullan as the main recruiter.
The opposite side commemorates the raising of the USA flag at Iwo Jima in WWII with the words "Semper-Fi" below - short for Semper fidelis, which is Latin for always faithful/loyal - the motto of the US Marine Corps.
The front reads "United States Marine Corps" with two Marines standing in front of the Great Seal.
The army emblem is on the front encircled by 22K gold highlighted scroll designs.
A pewter version of the U.S. Eagle crest serves as the thumb lift with a 3D pewter Marine Corp emblem on the top.
A great gift for any service member.
