Rommel Afrika Korps Historic Beer Stein
The body of the stein is a smooth, black glazed, high quality stoneware decorated with a platinum wrap around design. Along the top border are the words, "THE HISTORY OF THE GERMAN AFRICA CORPS," in German. The left side of the stein features a timeline detailing significant events in the history of the Africa Corps, beginning with 1940 when the Italians launched offensive actions against North Korea. Images of military vehicles, soldiers, and various insignias also decorate the left side of the beer stein. The center of the stein proudly displays a pewter badge representation of the Afrikakorps seal, and the word "Afrikakorps" in bold lettering. Below the badge along the bottom of the beer stein is a sketch of a North African coast including state and major city lables. Along the top of the decal decoration are the different military names used for the German divisions over the two years they were in North Africa. The right side of the beer steins features more images of military vehicles, soldiers and military symbols throughout the Afrikakorps' history along with a full length image of General Field Marshal Erwin Rommel. The timeline from the left side continues on the right beginning with the capture of Bengasil January 29, 1943, and ending with a summary of the statistics for the injuries, MIA's, and casualties resulting from the conflict. To complete the beer stein, an ornamental pewter lid adorned with a detailed pewter figurine of General Field Marshal Erwin Rommel rests proudly on top.
