The main subject panel of this majestic piece depicts the kingdom's royal knight on horseback, assembling his troops together as they embark on a campaign. In the foreground are the foot soldiers with shields, swords, horns and banners. The knight son horseback are seen nearby the handle. Shields, helmets and arches complete the body decoration. Heraldic helmet plumage creates the thumblift. On top of the beer stein is a knight in full armor. The entire beer stein body is mounted on a filigree pedestal base. What makes this particular piece exceptional is the gold and copper hand painted areas that create a true symphony of metals.
